I need MS Access 2000 help!?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

I’m running Access 2000 (it’s the only version my company has).

I’m trying to create a new database that will not allow duplicate entries of a customer number.
In the design view, I changed the index to "Unique Yes (no duplicates)," but I can still enter the same number for more than one person.

What do I do? I’ve searched through help and http://office.microsoft.com, but I can’t find the answer. Please help! This is driving me crazy!

you might find something here http://www.worldstart.com/search_result.php?cx=partner-pub-7971792678119976%3Atiseh5xayt8&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=office+2000&sa=GO&hq=-inurl%3Ahttps&siteurl=www.worldstart.com%2Ftips%2Fcat-topics%2F20#1227 or here http://www.howtogeek.com/sitesearch/?cx=009481737823548119489%3Aw5lekpyovpo&cof=FORID%3A9&q=+MS+Access+2000+tips#1169

How do I convert a finished Microsoft Access project to an executable format?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

I’m a new Microsoft Access user, and my school is requiring me to build a database system in Access (with a switchboard and everything). I’ve done all of that, but the teacher wants the final project to be independent, i.e. converted/exported into an .exe file, so that it can opened without having to use Microsoft Access. Is that possible? And if so, how do I do it?

It can be done, but you’ll need to use the Microsoft Access Runtime. More info can be found here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA011208861033.aspx

Ms access query formulas. Can i enter a formula that will only show dates that have exceeded another one?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

I have created a query in MS Access and i was wondering if it was possible for me to view only certain dates. I have two fields called Due date(the date the item should be returned) and date returned( the actual date the item was returned) and i was wondering, could i enter a formula or code that would make the query search and show, only items that where returned after the due date was exceeded. many thanks in advance for your help.

If using the Query Design panel. Drag the [date returned] field on to the grid. Against "Criteria" put
>[due date]

If using SQL, put this clause into the statement:-

WHERE [date returned]>[due date]
