I have 1.6 years of experience in VBA, MS-Access, so will my experience count in VB.net vacancies.?
No because the only things the same in them are the simplest parts of the language syntax. For VB.NET you have to know how to use the .NET framework. When you get into that you will see some similarities in workbooks and worksheets, etc. but there is a lot more.
I would download VB.NET express (for free) and begin teaching yourself. If you know VBA you are part way there.

I don’t think so. Real programming in VB.net is almost completely different than scripting in VBA.

No, but you will find some of the code very easy to understand when you decide to start studying VB.NET.
