How do you access files that are denied?

All right a few days ago i system restored my computer to its original state, and i made a backup folder for all my old files . But now when i click the backup folder it says access is denied .

How do i access these files?

You need to take ownership of these file.Follow the process.
1.Go to My Computer ->Clcik on tools->Folder options->View Tab->Scroll the scroll bar to the bottom->Look for "Use simple file sharing" ans see if it is checked, if its checked then uncheck the box ->Click on Apply and Ok.

1.Now locate the folder that you are not able to access.
2.Right click on folder->Click on properties->Clcik on security tab.
3.Now click on Add->and type everyone->Clik on checkname->ok
4.Again clik on Add->Type administrator->Clik on checkname->ok

Provide full permission to both of them.

You will be able to access the file and folder

    You must be an administrator. Right click on the backup folder and go to properties, then the permissions tab. Make sure you have permissions to everything.
